Who are Mutas?
Mutas is a medical assistance alarm centre abroad from which members of a Neutral health insurance company benefit. It can be contacted by calling 02/272 09 00, 24/7 to assist you abroad.
Mutas intervenes financially for emergency medical expenses incurred during your stay abroad.
When and how to contact Mutas?
In the event of an accident or illness requiring urgent care occurring during your holiday, you must contact Mutas as quickly as possible so that they can assist you in the best possible conditions.
When it comes to emergency hospitalisation, you must call Mutas on 02/272 09 00 within 48 hours. Beyond this period, a deductible of 125€ will be applied.
In other cases (urgent outpatient care), a deductible of 25€ will be charged.

This only concerns recipients of Belgian social security family allowances at the time of departure.
The policyholder must submit proof that they are a beneficiary of family allowances from Belgian social security if they submit their medical expenses retrospectively to health insurance company.
And what about a cruise?
It is the flag of the boat which determines whether it is a country included in the list of countries covered by Mutas.
